Mimori Suzuko 10th Anniversary Live in Shanghai Repo

It’s been almost a month, yet I still often reminisce about my experience attending Mimori Suzuko 10th Anniversary Live「RingRing PikaPika BangBang」 in Shanghai, prompting me to pen down this account.

Since seeing Nanjo Yoshino at BMLSP in 2019, I hadn’t visited Shanghai. So, after disembarking the train, I took a brief stroll around the city before arriving at the venue where a crowd of fans had already gathered outside. However, due to the lack of rest and the long wait, I was already feeling weary before the Live even began.

This was my first time attending a Live at LiveHouse, and I was surprised by how narrow the space was. I had to be extra careful of the surrounding audience while doing calls. Yet, this proximity allowed me to see MIMORIN’s face more clearly—what a beautiful face, especially her smiling eyes! I was eager to capture every moment of the concert in my memory.

Although I wasn’t very familiar with MIMORIN’s solo songs and had only bought one single previously, I tried my best to keep up with the rhythm. MIMORIN’s vocal skills were undoubtedly outstanding, and some songs even included Chinese lyrics, showing the dedication of MIMORIN and her staff. The MC segments were also entertaining, and she even brought out a translation device (though it wasn’t of much use). One amusing moment was when she tried to inquire about everyone’s origins, but due to her unfamiliarity with certain places in China, she ended up asking who was from Shanghai and who wasn’t, which was incredibly endearing. There was also a Q&A session, and I surprisingly understood quite a bit of it, showing that watching Live videos with subtitles did pay off. Additionally, she mentioned her past visits to Shanghai, such as the 2015 μ’s Fan Meeting Tour.

The Live seemed to end too soon. During the encore, she announced she would sing a character-related song, and although as an LoveLiver, I hoped for something related to Sonoda Umi, like “WONDER FLIGHT,” I knew she often performed “Star Divine” on stages like Animelo Summer Live. As the intro played, the whole venue erupted, reaching a climax. During the MC segment, she mentioned Koyama Momoyo and Hanazawa Kana’s Mandarin Chinese MCs. The final song was “Aitai yo…Aitai yo!(会いたいよ…会いたいよ!)”, and besides MIMORIN on stage, the big screens played various memories from her decade-long career, leaving me unsure where to look.

Congratulations again to MIMORIN on her 10th anniversary!

The two dancers in this performance were also fascinating. One of them was the familiar maimai-sensei, who, besides MIMORIN, also choreographed for μ’s, Nanjolno, fripSide phase 2, and others. It was fortunate to see her this time.

Since BMLSP in 2016, I had dreamed of attending MIMORIN’s concert, and finally, eight years later, it became a reality. Through this Live, I gained a deeper understanding of MIMORIN and have already added all the songs from this Live to my playlist. After the show, it felt like a dream, but thankfully, the postcard in my hand reminded me that it was all real.
